Day forty-six

Who woulda thunk it, I'm posting some pictures. I'll add a text post not long after this too, should help make more sense of the pictures :).

A couple from Philadelphia.

The view down Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the Philadelphia Museum of Art at the end, which is also the building Sly Stallone runs up the steps of at the end of Rocky. The Parkway is lined with museums, libraries, hotels, etc.

The famous scultpure known as the Gates of Hell, by Rodin, from the front of the Rodin Museum. It was pretty incredible to study.

A couple from Memphis.

My hotel room! It was huge, including the kingsize bed. My current New Orleans room is a third the size of this with only a double bed, for the same price as the Memphis hotel.

The view from my room. This was fantastic for the night it thunderstormed.

A few from Graceland.

Graceland from the back.

Elvis's basement. It's kind of hard to see in the photo what's where in this room because of all the mirroring.

Elvis's Jungle Room. The acoustics in here from all the shagpile apparently made for a pretty good recording area, and some of his later albums were recorded right there in this room.

Just SOME of Elvis's awards. There were four walls like this, AND a long hall.

Elvis's favourite food - the fried peanut butter and banana sandwich. Tasty! And a side of chilli cheese fries (my choice, not his :P).

One of the cars from Elvis's Automobile Museum.

It's currently Monday morning in Australia, and my brother's birthday! Happy Birthday Brett! I should have called home by the time you guys read this though :).
